Exploring....

Ever since I was very young my family and I have travelled to many European countries. My first memory was a big log cabin far away from civilisation in Norway. My granddad worked for the Danish Rails and they owned a cabin for employees to use almost for free. To get there was a great trip in it self seen through the eyes of a 5 year old. Ferry from Denmark to Norway, train to the nearest train stop where we would be met by a local who would take us the last bit across land and water by foot and dingy. It was a BIG house with a lot of rooms to play in at night and during daylight we spend as much time as possible in the outdoor element.  We fished, rowed the boat to islands in the lake, saw beaver dams and moose tracks in the large forest surrounding the house. Picking blueberries playing Indians while showering on the patio outside was what we did almost every day. It was child's paradise if you ask me and maybe it was here that my fascination of nature and travelling sparkled and has grown ever since. We visited the house in Norway several times and I was sad to hear when the house was sold and we could no longer go there.........

After that we started travelling in Denmark and other European countries. The first time on my own was when I was 15 years old. Twice that year I travelled without my family. I went to France with my French class and later to Skt. Petersburg, Russia and stayed with a local family. This trip opened my eyes for travelling. I went on some school excursions from then till 1999 where I travelled to South Africa with my friend on my first intercontinental trip. The 2½ months kick started my global  travelling which have taken me to India, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Bali, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii/USA, Mexico, Canada, Maldives, Philippines and Thailand again, counting outside Europe.......

Recently I gained more interest in travelling inside Europe.....
